If you’re a long time comic fan, there’s a project in the works called War of the Independents. Spearheaded by artists Dave Ryan, it’s a 6-issue series that features dozens of independent comic book characters like Cerebus, Madman, Bone, Savage Dragon, Mr. Monster and many more in a Crisis/Civil War style crossover. Being an independent venture, Ryan is looking for a little help from fans. He’s created a Kickstarter Project for War of the Independents. Just click through and you can pledge as little as $10.

If you’re not familiar with Kickstarter, it’s a funding system that lets any creator post a project and a dollar amount they need to create that project. Fans, friends, and family can then pledge different amounts and receive different rewards for each pledge. If the total dollar amount is not received in pledges, the money is returned to the donor. It’s a great system that’s funding a lot of great, independent projects.
