Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark Videos

Two videos featuring images, preview footage and music from the upcoming Broadway show Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark from Marvel and director Julie Taymor with music by The Edge and Bono from U2 have appeared online. I’ve had bad feelings about this production since it was announced and everything I’ve read or seen hasn’t really made me feel any better. I’ll admit, the videos make it look interesting and Taymor is certainly an interesting director. With that in mind, do I think Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark is worth checking out? Yes. Do I think Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark will be successful? No.

For a great explanation of the difference between the two, listen to episode 964 of the Comic Geek Speak podcast. Co-host Peter Rios has long been involved with theater and gives a great explanation as to what obstacles the show must overcome to be successful.
