Shout! Factory to Release Street Hawk DVD

StreekHawk_Complete Shout! Factory is making fans of early eighties television very happy. On July 13, Shout! Factory and Fabulous Films will release a 4-DVD set of the ABC television show Street Hawk. Starring Rex Smith as ex-cop Jesse Mach, Street Hawk featured a sleek, black motorcycle capable of reaching 300 miles-per-hour.

Produced in the early to mid-eighties, Street Hawk was another attempt to cash in on the success of Knight Rider – as was Blue Thunder and Airwolf. Something about the motorcycle version of K.I.T.T. clicked with me and I still remember the show fondly.

Add this to Shout! Factory’s excellent line of upcoming releases, such as: Max Headroon, Tales of the Gold Monkey, and more G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero episodes and it’s easy to see why they’re one of my favorite DVD production and distribution companies.

The set will even feature a brand-new documentary and the unaired alternate pilot:

In addition to all 12 regular-season episodes, you’ll get two different versions of the pilot episode, plus other bonus material:

  • Original Pilot Episode (73 mins.)
  • Never- Before-Seen Pilot, featuring different Street Hawk firepower (73 mins.)
  • "Street Hawk: The Making of a Legend" – A brand new documentary featuring Rex Smith, Joe Regalbuto and Jeannie Wilson (41 mins.)
  • Photo Galleries
  • Biographies
  • Episode Synopsis
  • 8-Page Collector’s Book

  1. I loved Street Hawk as a kid. I remember watching on USA and always looking forward to it. I don’t know how it would hold up now but it used to seem so action packed back then. It probably helped that it starred “Daredevil”, too. It was my personal favorite of the Knight Rideresque shows, and if Shout Factory is releasing it, I think that will be a tempting and worthy set.
