The most recent version of Firestorm (Jason Rusch) will be making his first animated appearance on Batman: Brave and the Bold on Friday, February 12 in an episode entitled “A Bat Divided.”
The most interesting this about this Jason Rusch Firestorm appearance is the person whom he will be merged with – Ronnie Raymond. That’s my assumption anyway, after reading the teaser for the episode:
A school field trip goes awry when Dr. Double X causes a lab explosion that fuses slacker science teacher Ronnie to his genius pupil Jason, creating the reluctant hero Firestorm…and unbeknownst them, it leaves Batman divided into three parts
Could this be a hint at the post-Blackest Night plans for Firestorm. Jason merged with a deceased Ronnie in Blackest Night. If DC’s dead heroes are resurrected en-masse, as is widely speculated, a Ronnie/Jason merging would please both new and old Firestorm fans.
