Watchmen: Under the Hood

I’ll have a full review up in a few days about the Warner Home Video release of Watchmen: Tales of the Black Freighter, but I had to share a few images from this DVD that is drastically under promoted. I believe that it should have been called Watchmen: Under the Hood, because the Under the Hood segment is 37 minutes and easily more relevant than the Tales of the Black Freighter short.

Either way, the Watchmen: Under the Hood short conveys all of the info from the text pieces included in the comics/graphic novel in an interview format. Using mostly interviews with Hollis Mason and Sally Jupiter, the interviewer recounts the history of the minute men, how Nite Owl got his name and costume (look for the image of Dan Garrett / Blue Beetle). It’s a shame this wasn’t integrated into the movie. it’s great sutff.

Teaming up with his friend (who happened to have the perfect domain name) they revised the former Superheroes-R-Us site into what it is now.
