Giffen and Clark’s Doom Patrol Entices in August

Since Marvel and DC have been pricing books at $3.99, I’ve been reading a lot less. Kudos to DC for the co-feature idea. It’s proving to be a great way to spotlight characters that can’t quite support a series. Still, $3.99 is steep for one book.

I might be eating those words if the August 5 debut of Doom Patrol #1 by Keith Giffen and artist Matthew Clark keeps looking (and reading) as good as it does. I can’t wait to see what happens to the seemingly “red shirt” characters (Grunt the gorilla and his unnamed partner) in the preview below.

DC Universe: The Source released the best preview we’ve seen today:

Teaming up with his friend (who happened to have the perfect domain name) they revised the former Superheroes-R-Us site into what it is now.
