More X-Men and Iron Man Cartoon News

Marvel has updated a story on their site with larger images and little more info on the 2009 debuting Nicktoons Iron Man and X-Men series.
“Wolverine and the X-Men” (26 half-hour eps):
The story begins as an explosive event shatters the lives of the X-Men and takes away their mentor, Professor X. The beaten heroes, including Beast, Storm, Cyclops and Nightcrawler, walk away from it all but then they are given a rare glimpse into the future, where they see a world in utter ruin…ruled by giant destructive robots. They discover the world has spiraled out of control because the X-Men have given up. So now the most legendary of all X-Men, Wolverine, must take the lead on the ultimate mission–to prevent the world’s destruction—while fending off enemies Magneto and The Brotherhood.
Iron Man: The Animated Series (26 half-hour eps):
Tony Stark, heir to a billion-dollar corporation, lives a life of luxury, free to pursue his chief interests—seeking extreme thrills, solving scientific mysteries and creating mind-boggling inventions. But everything goes horribly wrong when a tragic accident robs Tony of his father and nearly costs him his own life. Now dependent on his own impressive technology for survival and dedicated to battling corruption, Tony must reconcile the pressure of teenage life with the duties of a Super Hero. Inside his remarkable invention, Tony Stark is geared for high-speed flight, high-tech battles and high-octane adventure! He is Iron Man.
I think it’s interesting that the X-Men cartoon is going with Emma instead of Jean. I like what they’ve done in the comics with Emma and Scott and like the fact that Jean/Phoenix has stayed dead (although I’m sure she’ll return eventually). The Wolverine movie coming out next summer easily explains the Wolverine top billing in the shows title.
A lot of people may complain about the Iron Man cartoon. Sounds like a big change story wise. Tony is a teenager dealing with the death of his father and the accident that makes him wear the armor. Sounds like the added a little Peter Parker/Spider-Man to their Iron Man. No worries from me. I’ll watch it and hopefully the younger Iron Man will entice newer fans to the show an to comic shops (which is a good thing).

I am so excited for the new Iron Man cartoon. Mostly because my son has been asking about it nonstop. He is only five, so I don’t think he is ready for the movie at all. However, I also think 2009 might be a little too long after the movie. We shall see.
2009 is too far - this fall would have been better for Iron Man toon.
My son is 4 1/2 and he can’t stop talking about Iron Man. We’ll be going to to see it on May 3.
Let me know what you think of it, for your son too. 2009 is too far off, but at the same time, it was Nickelodeon’s commercial placements that got him excited to see the movie. I have no doubt that will be in full swing for the cartoon.
The thing is,
It doesn’t help people go to Comic Book shops at all…because the shows and most especially the HUGE blockbuster films make no mention to head to the shops to see more of that particular character or team
Every episode should say that at the end or show a preview of some upcoming comics/issues the viewer may be interested in. Movies should also have a scene at end of movie before credits saying if you liked this, check out this, etc.
Marvel = bad marketing
* Justin - I didn’t see anything wrong with Iron Man for kids. Personally, I thought it was no different than me seeing Star Wars when I was 4. There was shooting, lasers and explosions, but all of the violence was bloodless. I think there were to curse words.
* Rob - excellent idea. I remember the GI Joe cartoon used to have that. Maybe we’ll see that with the Marvel produced cartoons. They definitely should have done that on Iron Man, since that was a Marvel produced movie.
Looks like “Wolverine and the X-Men” could be a sequel to “X-Men Evolution”. It would be cool if it was as I was really disapointed by the ending.
I don’t really like the idea of a teenage Tony Stark taking up the mantle of Iron Man, but i guess I’ll just wait and see how it turns out.
estas series son las mejores estamos esperando la 2 temp de w and the x-men si va saludos desde el monteclaro country club
