HIGHLANDER Remake-Is Kevin McKidd the new Connor MacLeod?
In June, I reported that the original 1986 Highlander movie is set to be remade by Summit Entertainment. The big question that remained was, “Who would fill the shoes of Sean Connery, Clancy Brown and Christopher Lambert?”
Now comes word from the guys over at JoBlo that they may have found their new Connor MacLeod.
They caught actor Kevin McKidd, probably best known as the Scottish guy from Made of Honor or as the star of the short-lived series Journeyman, on Dublin radio. While working the airwaves, McKidd revealed that he’d been approached about starring in a new Highlander film. He didn’t offer much more information than that, but even that tidbit’s pretty big.
At least they found someone for the part who is actually Scottish. Not just Scottish, but I think pretty capable of pulling off the part. In Journeyman he played the sensitive, touchy-feely guy part pretty well and in Made of Honor he was literally the only thing that didn’t suck as, playing a rough, tough, brutish, traditional, kilt-wearing Scotsman. Combine those two characters together and you have Connor MacLeod, the Highlander. McKidd not only has the advantage of actually being Scottish, but he’s quite the butt kicker as well. If you have seen him in Rome, you will have seen this for yourself. He also swung a sword in Kingdom of Heaven, but I’m not sure if you can really make him out in that blurry opening fight where everyone dies. So take my word for it. He’s a badass — and that’s not surprising since he does hail from the land that probably invented the word.
More to come…..
Extra Tidbit: McKidd was reportedly a favourite to play THOR before director Matthew Vaughn exited the project.

I think McKidd would be perfect for the role of Conner. To bad he won’t be Thor But The Highlander. HELL YEAH MOTHERFUCKER. Please reply back to me. Thanks
